Blocked nose: be careful with the nasal decongestant drops and sprays

The arrival of spring and summer causes Hay fever to cause discomfort among the sufferers.

Traditionally, anti-histamines and steroid nasal sprays are used for symptom relief.

Some people use nasal decongestants to help with symptom relief.

The UK authorities has released an alert advising people to limit use of nasal decongestants.

The agency advises to limit use of nasal decongestant sprays containing xylometazoline and oxymetazoline to a maximum of five days due to side effects of prolonged use.
